Jacqueline all set to appear in South American Women’s Championship - Volleyball
Jacqueline, the Brazilian volleyball player and Olympic champion, was recently inducted back into the Brazilian women’s team for the 2011 South American Women’s Championship that is scheduled to take place on September 27.
The good performance of the team that was adorned with the silver medal in the 2011 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix is indispensible if Brazil wants to ensure a safe passage into the 2011 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Cup.
The tournament that can bring Brazil a ticket into the FIVB World Cup is going to be staged in Peru which is giving the finishing touches to their preparations. The tournament will last until the 2nd of October.
In the event that the Brazilians finish the upcoming tournament with flying colours, they will be appearing next in the FIVB World Cup that is set to take place from the 4th of November until the 18th. Apart from the credibility and prestige that
the world championship have, it also comes with another important aspect this time around. The teams that will be able to secure the top three positions in the World Cup will be ensuring themselves a spot in the highly anticipated London 2012 Olympic Games.
Jacqueline was sorely missed in the World Grand Prix that recently took place as she was unfit for playing purposes because of an injury. However, the player is now fully recovered and is expected to boast the performance of the Brazilian squad and give
the team a sure spot in the World Cup.
So far the performance of the Brazilian squad this year has been quite impressive and they have been able to live up to the expectations of their fans. In all, Brazil has played 24 matches until this point and lost only one of them. Unfortunately for the
team, the match that Brazil lost was the final of the World Grand Prix that was played against the U.S. squad.
The Brazilians have a commendable record in the history of the South American Women’s Championship as the team has won the title 16 times.
