Jacques Kallis: The only man standing in India's way
Jacques Kallis was the man that stood in India’s way in the third and final Test of the series. Until lunch, South Africa were 335 for the loss of nine wickets.
After India won the toss and elected to bowl, the visitors would have hoped to wrap up the South African innings cheaply but the class of Kallis proved to be too much for the Indian bowlers.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 were 232 for the loss of four wickets at the close of the first day. The overnight batsmen Kallis and Ashwell Prince started the innings for the Proteas. Prince was unable to capitalize on the start he got and was dismissed three runs short
of his half century. Mark Boucher got out on the very next ball, giving Sreesanth a hat-trick chance. The hat-trick was avoided by Kallis as he defended an incoming ball from Sreesanth confidently.
Although wickets kept falling at regular intervals, Kallis didn’t lose focus at all. He continued to dominate the Indian bowlers and completed his 39th Test match century. Apart from Kallis, Hashim Amla scored a half century as well; Amla scored
59 before getting out.
The Indian bowlers were accurate in this match. They would have liked to bowl out the South African team much below the total they managed, nevertheless, the fast bowlers put together a decent show.
Sreesanth was the pick of all the bowlers as he picked up a five wicket haul. He got support from Zaheer Khan and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 was Harbhajan Singh; the experienced off-spinner didn’t pick up
any wicket in his spell.
The conditions eased out a little bit but there was still some seam movement and bounce for the fast bowlers. This will keep the South African bowlers interested. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Morne-Morkel-c77722 will be looking forward to run through the Indian top order once
they get the ball in their hands.
On the other hand, the Indian team will look to get the last wicket as early as possible and score big in their first innings in order to pressurize the South Africans.
