http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JH-Kallis-c1692 features for Cape Cobras in Franchise 1-Day Cup – Cricket News Update
South Africa’s top all-rounder, Jacques Kallis, featured for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861 squad in the previous three seasons and played his first return Franchise 1-Day
match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dolphins-c781 on Wednesday, November 30, 2011.
The Proteas national team has a jammed packed season, so Kallis would feature in the One-Day matches only.
The head coach of Cape Cobras, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Richard-Alexander-Pybus-c84844, was delighted to bag the services of the South African all-rounder. Pybus states that Kallis' inclusion in the playing XI will help draw supporters to the grounds as he is a local hero.
Apart from that, the cricketer will also help groom the youngsters in the side, who consider it a privilege playing alongside him.
“We win all-round because the youngsters want to play alongside him, the standard of cricket is lifted when the national players are involved and it becomes more attractive for the public to watch. It's his cricketing home. He
is playing for a team that he has an emotional connection with,” said Pybus in an interview to Espncricinfo.
The coach is convinced that Kallis will also benefit from playing in domestic matches. The all-rounder was not in the best of form in recent matches, and playing in the domestic structure could help him overcome the issues he is
facing.
“I have asked him if there is anything he would like me to have a look at, but Jacques knows his game. It is critical that national players are playing domestic cricket whenever they can. We have to be able to manage guys like
Jacques over a long season and make informed, judicious decisions about how much they should be playing,” said the helm of Cobras.
Kallis is amongst one of the finest cricketers that have ever walked on the surface of the earth. The 36-year-old’s track record in all three formats of the game is mind blowing. He is the only all-rounder in cricket’s history,
who has scored more than 11,000 runs and has taken over 250 wickets in both ODI’s and Test matches.
