Jade Ely conquers two gold medals in 200m and 500m freestyle swimming in Gillette
Jade Ely presented a great show in the arena of competitive swimming at the 2011 Wyoming High School State Championships, in Gillette, Wyoming, on Monday, October 31. Ely went on to win two gold medals in the Girls 200m and 500m freestyle swimming races.
Jade Ely beat Larisa Jones and Jonna Brown by thrashing the finishing wall in an inspiring mark of 1 minute and 57.70 seconds to win the Girls 200m freestyle title. Meanwhile, Jones claimed silver title in a time of 1 minute and 59.03 seconds and Brown claimed
bronze medal in a time of 2 minutes and 00.57 seconds.
Abby Urban earned fourth position by hitting the finishing wall in a fastest time of 2 minutes and 00.79 seconds, while Sarah Devine settled at fifth spot in a blot of 2 minutes and 02.38 seconds. Lastly, the sixth position went to Presleigh Hayashida in
a time of 2 minutes and 07.99 seconds.
In addition, Jade Ely clinched her second gold medal in the Girls 500m freestyle event, whereas, Ely knocked out her strongest rivals, including Larisa Jones and Abby Urban by hitting the finishing wall in an impressive mark of 5 minutes and 18.63 seconds.
In the meantime, Jones claimed silver title in a time of 5 minutes and 20.39 seconds and the bronze title went to Urban in 5 minutes and 20.67 seconds.
Moreover, Mariah Miller gave her best attempt in the respective meet and got fourth position by touching the finishing wall in a time of 5 minutes and 28.83 seconds. Madi Sato earned fifth place honours by posting a time of 5 minutes and 32.83 seconds, while
Kendra Storey had to settle for sixth position in 5 minutes and 48.59 seconds.
Furthermore, Presleigh Hayashida earned the first position in 500m freestyle B final heat by submitting an impressive time of 5 minutes and 40.75 seconds, whereas, the second spot went to Peytin Brisch in a mark of 5 minutes and 43.13 seconds. Meanwhile,
the third position went to Jade Axness in a time of 5 minutes and 52.90 seconds.
