Jade Schaeffer clinches early lead at Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters on LET: Live leaderboard
French golfer, Jade Schaeffer has now surged to the top of leaderboard in the second round of the Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters at the scenic Albatross Golf Club in Netherlands. Schaeffer, who remained bogey free for the first 30 holes of the event,
fell for the lone bogey at par-three, 13th, carding a massive second round score of eight-under, 62, to stand out as the outright leader through the halfway mark.
Starting off from the back nine, Schaeffer pulled in four birdies before making the turn and took off with a blistering eagle at par-five, 12th, before falling for the lone bogey so far. She quickly shot back to form, carding three more birdies
towards the end of the round. She is now five shots clear of overnight leader, Malene Jorgensen, who has just tee-ed off for her second round.
Becky Brewerton of Wales has now moved to the joint third alongside three other players including Cassandra Kirkland of France, American Beth Allen, and Englishwoman Danielle Montgomery, with their aggregate scores of five-under. Montgomery still has to
play the last three holes of her second round. Brewerton carded three birdies for the day and dropped one shot on the back nine.
Allen was on top of the leaderboard early morning when she reeled out two consecutive birdies on the front nine, posing a threat for the rest of the field. She went over leading the event until the 12th hole where the disaster finally struck.
Amazingly, Allen barely even-parred the next five holes to fall for a dreadful double-bogey on the 18th.
The chubby Laura Davies seems to be in fine touch and has already pulled in two birdies in her opening four holes on the front nine. First round runner-up, Klara Spilkova started off on a not-so-good note and dropped a shot at par-four, 2nd, in
her opening front nine of the second round. Caroline Masson, Felicity Johnson and Sophie Giquel-Bettan have yet to tee-off for their second rounds along with Anja Monke, Kiran Matharu and Ursula Wikstrom.
Zuzana Kamasova and Lisa Hall are likely to miss the halfway cut after their lopsided rounds of 79 and 78 respectively, in the opening round.
