Jaeger LeCoultre & Reverso Date Info Request

Question

I have recently been to my local specialist jeweller to purchase a Rolex watch but upon trying a few on I decide that they were not for me. I did however also like a Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso Date watch in pink gold with a black crocodile strap.The jeweller advised me that JLC was one of the best watch makers in the world and that this watch used a relatively new sophisticated mechanical mechanism.Can anyone advise on how good JLC watches are and is this model as good as he says ?regards,Carl Read
