The Magpies underwent a remarkable previous campaign, which saw them mount a sustained challenge for a top-four finish.
However, the Tyneside outfit were humbled 3-1 at Goodison Park on the final day of the season, forcing them to settle for a fifth place in the final standings.
The Toffees themselves ended their 2011/12 term at the seventh spot in the table.
With both the sides ready to lock horns again on Monday at Goodison Park, the English International upped the pre-match heat by asking Pardew to show more respect towards his team.
Even though he acknowledged the Toon’s phenomenal run in the prevenient term, he insisted that their performance in one season alone was not an indicator that they were a better team than Everton.
“I wouldn’t say there was a bit of an edge to the game on Monday, but I think it’s a little bit disrespectful for someone to say something like that after one good season,” he told the reporters.
“Fair play, Newcastle had a fantastic season and massively overachieved, but they aren’t the first team to overachieve for a season.”
The 30-year old also claimed that the Toffees are one of the most consistent sides in the Premier League. He also felt that their performances over the last couple of years merited more praise than what they usually get.

After remaining in the shadow of other defenders for a considerable period, the centre-back revealed his high ambitions for this season, and was satisfied with his progress thus far.
“You set yourself high standards and I’ve maybe not reached them as consistently as I’d like in the last season or so,” he added.
