http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Jagielka-c29902, has played down the rumours suggesting him to be considering a move away from Everton in January.
The English International is not new to dealing with these kinds of situations. Last year, some speculations associated him to a move to Arsenal, with same kind of surmises appearing again in the media ahead of the January window.
The 30-year is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League. After joining the Merseyside club in July, 2007, he has represented the Toffees in 190 matches in all competitions and notched up 6 goals during this period. He is also currently
a part of the England’s national squad for the World Cup Qualifiers.
Nonetheless, despite seeing his name emerge in the transfer talk yet again, Jagielka refused to give much attention to the subject.
The defender revealed that he has no plans of decamping from Goodison Park in the near future and if he were to leave the club at some point in his career, it will be with the mutual consent of his manager and the club.
“Every player is different. Another player might want to move or another player has his head filled with numbers by an agent,” he told the reporters.
“But my agent knows exactly what I want and how I work, my parents know how I work and so it was always a simple one for me.”
An approach by a club competing in the Champions League will be a lucrative one for any player, and could even force them into switching their loyalties, but not for Jagielka.
The English footballer claimed that he had no regrets of turning down the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 overture, insisting that staying at Everton was one of the easiest decisions that he had taken.
He further said that he was committed to the Toffees for the long haul, and does not plan on turning his back towards the club.
“For me it was the most simple decision in the world: nothing was going to happen with me until the day arrived that Everton came and said they were selling me,” he added.
