Question:

Jagwire products - any good?

I'm building up a new frame and I want to know if it is worth it to track down jagwire products for my shifter cables and for my disc brake cables (avid mechanicals).

Are they worth looking for? I've already checked 10 stores and none carry them. The general opinion in the stores is that they are not any good, but when I ask them, they all sort of respond that they haven't actually tried them before themselves.

Don't really know where else to look

thanks.

  1. I agree with Mirage.  Also, Jagwire is the OEM supplier of cables and many special little housing fittings for many manufactuers.  Your shop can order them from any distributor, or you can buy them online easily at places like http://www.jensonusa.com , http://www.blueskycycling.com , or http://www.pricepoint.com

Jagwire rawks....I've been using their stuff for a few years now and love it.  And they're reasonably priced.   They have colors, too.  :o)

  2. their good but are quite pricey as compared to other brands the normal shimano ones should work well enough unless your a pro a demand a certain weight limit

  3. They came stock on my Greenspeed. 1 year later, 4.5k miles, not a hint of a problem. Smooth as glass, stretched once when new and not another adjustment, still look brand new.

  4. Jagwire cables and housing are the best stuff out there. They have a larger variety of cables and housings than any company I can think of.

They are expensive but well worth the cost. Most bike shops can order Jagwire for you.
