What is the difference between the two. I know the difference between a jail( less than one year) and a prison(more than a year), however i don't know the physical difference between the two. Is a jail cell a little more luxurious? It the prison nicer more comforting? Idk. Can anybody help. Pictures would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Generally speaking `you usually have a little more freedom in prison.

  2. Well, this is really different across the board.  Some jails are in pretty good condition...others, well, aren't.  Prisons are usually monitored by the state (which shows you how good they can be), while others could be privately funded.

Las Vegas County has a nice looking jail-http://blogs.lasvegassun.com/ojsimpson/w...

And Stateville Maximum Security Prison doesn't look too bad either...

But because of budget crunches, most jail and prison cells are looking like this

    Hope this helps!

  3. County jail is cramped. The food sucks. It's like a metallic fortress.

Depending on the prison it's not as cramped. The food is a h**l of alot better. It's a fortress but not as bad as the county jail.

Only requirement for both is the ability to throw knuckles and keep your mouth shut.

On MSNBC late night, they show prisons across America many times during the week.
