What I would do is simply restore and re-jailbreak. I do not believe that a new keyboard will help since it is only acting as a skin.

If you would like an opinion, I say just do a restore and un-jailbreak the thing. I used to have a jailbroken iPod Touch but all it did was cause problems.

Thats an easy one, just download a new keyboard off of your installer app. i would go for the vista perfection keyboard.
