Jaime Alguersuari may become a DJ in 2011
Jaime Alguersuari was surprised at not having seen his name mentioned in the recently published entry list for the 2011 teams by FIA. The Toro Rosso driver exclaimed that he is certain of his seat with the team for next season
and sees no reason as to why FIA did not add his name in the list.
While talking to the media earlier today, the driver said that he is getting prepared these days for showing up at the 2011 grid behind the Toro Rosso wheel. The junior Red Bull owned team has announced several times in the past
few weeks that the team is going to stick to its current drivers, Alguersuari and Sebastien Buemi for the upcoming season. As per the team, both the drivers have done a satisfactory job this year, and with a more competitive car next season, a stronger performance
is expected by the duo.
However, in the list published by FIA earlier this month, the Red Bull Racing’s drivers were mentioned, while for Toro Rosso, "TBA", for ‘to be announced’, was written. When asked, FIA’s representatives said that the team has yet
not confirmed their next year’s drivers and has declared that they are still considering all the options.
When Alguersuari, who is also a keen amateur DJ, was asked about this, he joked,
"Because I'm thinking about leaving F1 for music. I am with Toro Rosso, for sure. I don't know why people are playing this game - I am in Formula One, 100%."
However, on a serious note, he added that his goal for 2011 season is to finish among the top ten in each of the races.
The 20-year-old continued saying, "I want to keep doing the work we have been doing and above all to finish seventh or eighth in the constructors' championship. The team and I gave everything this year. We didn't have the car
for any more. On a personal level I'm happy with myself and I hope that in 2011 we can keep improving."
While expressing his long-term goal, Alguersuari revealed that his desire is to race with the Red Bull Racing and he has set a period of two years for him to fulfil his dream. However, he admits that his performance and the team’s
car, both together will help him make his dream come true.
The current world champion, Sebastian Vettel was also a Toro Rosso driver before he made his way to Red Bull.
