Jaime Alguersuari not worried about his stay at Toro Rosso – Formula 1 news
Toro Rosso driver Jaime Alguersuari has said that he is not worried about staying with his team for the 2012 Formula 1 season keeping in mind that might be the only way for him to stay in the sport as a full season driver.
“Not at all. Why?  Because it's a situation that does not depend on me. I don't waste time thinking about things that I can do nothing about,” said Alguersuari when asked whether he is worried about his future.
Despite the fact that Alguersuari has scored more points in 2011, the team claims that his performance has not been satisfactory as a result of which it is believed that he might lose his race seat at the team for the 2012 Formula 1 season.
The Spanish driver is currently in 13th place with 9 points while his teammate Sebastien Buemi is just a single point adrift of him in 15th place.

“I can put my helmet on and do my best. I am serious and I want to progress, but I do not think about whether I will have a Red Bull or a Ferrari or a Toro Rosso or a HRT, I worry about making the most of what I have now,” said the Toro Rosso driver.
Other than that, he added that he believes that Sebastian Vettel has already closed the 2011 Formula 1 championship as the points’ gap between him and his rivals is just enormous.

“The (points) gap is enormous and even if his competitors win every other race he will always be there,” he said.
Nevertheless, Toro Rosso are currently in 8th place in the constructors’ standings and it is quite impressive for them as they are just 3 points short of Force India who are currently in 7th place in the standings.
The team has definitely been improving its pace with each race and it seems that they do have the potential to become a very good mid-running team in the future keeping in mind that they are improving their statistics each year.
