Jaime Alguersuari says he is not worried about his future with Toro Rosso at the moment – Formula 1
Toro Rosso driver Jaime Alguersuari has said that he is not worried about his future with his current team at the moment.
Alguersuari added that his main focus at the moment is to get best possible results for the team in the rest of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
The Spaniard is driving in Formula 1 for Toro Rosso since 2010. However, he stated that he is at Toro Rosso at the moment, but he is not sure about 2012 whether he could stay with them or not.
The Italy-based outfit driver talked to the media and mentioned that at the moment his aim is to become a better driver of the sport. Alguersuari seemed to make improvements in terms of performance race-by-race in the 2011 Formula 1 season so far. However,
he stated that he feels proud with what he has done with Toro Rosso until now.
The 21-year-old driver commented, “I don't think about next year because every year we sort contracts at the end of the year and you never know what might happen. We will see how the season finishes, I mean at the end the main objective for is to keep up
the job we have been doing all year and to keep the team high up - eighth position, seventh would be crazy.”
He went on to say, “I am 21-years-old and I started with Red Bull when I was 15 and they put me in Formula One when I was 19. I didn't know the car but now I am starting to improve, so I'm happy to be here.”
In the 2011 Belgium Grand Prix, Alguersuari was unable to complete his race at Spa-Francorchamps. Due to an accident, he had to retire from the race after starting the Grand Prix from the sixth place on the opening grid.
After completing 12 rounds of the ongoing season, Alguersuari is at the 14th place with 10 points in the 2011 drivers’ championship.
Let’s see how he manages his race in the upcoming Italian Grand Prix which will be held on September 11, 2011 at the Monza racetrack.
