Jakarta Open 2012: Andrew Susanto sends Naufal Fawwaz packing in Men’s Singles second round
Indonesia’s promising shuttler Andrew Susanto displayed a staggering performance when he sent Naufal Fawwaz packing in an emphatic fashion in Men’s Singles second round of Djarum Sirnas Flypower Jakarta Open 2012 on Wednesday, May 16, at Jakarta, Indonesia.
Susanto, who has been placed at number 9 in Men’s Singles main draw of Jakarta Open, proved his elevated skills when he hammered Fawwaz in a comprehensive manner and advanced into the next round.
The in-form and higher ranked Susanto entertained his fans by playing spectacular badminton and thrashed his team-mate with a striking margin in just 35 minutes.
On the other hand, Fawwaz was helpless against the attacking play of his higher ranked opponent and crashed out without bagging any set in this second-round encounter.
In the first set, Andrew found a remarkable start when he did not waste any time and took a stunning lead at the early stage.
In the meanwhile, Fawwaz tried to find a good flow but failed to maintain his speed in the court.
The ninth seeded Susanto executed amazing shots while remaining positive and manipulated all loopholes of his lower ranked team-mate.
Until the one-minute break in opening set, Susanto was moving smoothly on the boar while remaining far ahead of his opponent.
After the break, Susanto did not let Fawwaz to catch up at any stage as he was fully focused and also played safe badminton.
The higher ranked Indonesian took advantage in this Men’s Singles fight by grabbing the first fame with a tremendous 21-8 score on the board.
In the second game, Fawwaz elevated his play by accelerating his speed and also managed to remain close of his higher ranked compatriot.
On the other hand, Susanto tried to take advantage but failed to set up comfortable lead until the one-minute break in the second game.
After the one-minute break, Susanto changed his tactics and geared up his speed to create pressure on his rival.
He remained successful in his tactical play and managed to win the second set with a five-point margin of 21-16.
Susanto achieved a fabulous victory in second round with an inspiring score of 21-8 and 21-16.
