Indonesia’s impressive shuttler Fitriani made her home fans happy by putting up phenomenal show of top quality badminton in Women’s Singles second round when she toppled Vioni Florencya at Djarum Sirnas Flypower Jakarta Open 2012 on Thursday, May 17 in Jakarta.
Fitriani, who is sixth seed in Women’s Singles draw, put up thrilling show of flawless badminton and remained in commanding position in the whole match and won it with a comprehensive margin on the board.
The higher ranked Fitriani showed her remarkable skills in the court and easily wrapped up victory in a sensational fashion by consuming just 25 minutes.
On the other hand, Vioni was helpless against the gutsy performance of her higher ranker team-mate and lost to her in straight games without putting up considerable resistance.
In the first game, both shuttlers played competitive badminton and remained in full control of rallies in a few rallies.
However, Fitriani took over the control and started to push her rival on the back foot. Her impressive play spared not room for Vioni to dictate the pace of rallies anymore.
Until the one-minute break, Fitriani was proceeding ahead of her rival on the score board.
After the break, Vioni tried to show her skills but failed to impressive the crowd as her rival was on a different level.
In the meanwhile, Fitriani remained on track in the opening set and easily grabbed it with a sensational margin of 21-8.
In the second game, Vioni displayed glimpses of her brilliance as she played with impressive precision and also did not show even a slight mercy to her un-seeded challenger.
Until the break, Fitriani was going slightly ahead of Vioni on the score board.
After the break, Fitriani changed her strategy at net and started to play with deception in her strokes. Her game plan worked well as she managed to take a good lead on the board.
The higher ranked Indonesian managed to bag the second set with a four-point advantage of 21-17.
Fitriani won this Women’s Singles battle in just 25 minutes with a 21-8 and 21-17 score on the board.
