Jakarta Open 2012: Reza Pahlevi proved too strong for Langgeng Prakoso in Men’s Singles second round
Reza Pahlevi, the upcoming player from Indonesia, cheered his local fans as he reached into Men’s Singles third round after defeating his team-mate Langgeng Prakoso at Djarum Sirnas Flypower Jakarta Open 2012 in Indonesia, on Wednesday, May 16.
Pahlevi has been remarkable throughout the tournament and also continued his impressive performance against Prakoso by beating him in straight games in a striking fashion.
The in-form Pahlevi was one class above his rival as he played with complete control and stamped his mark over Prakoso in two sets while taking just 35 minutes.
On the other hand, Prakoso could not put up strong resistance in the opening set and lost it easily. However, he put stunning show by showing his wonderful skills in the second game before losing to his rival with a tight margin.
In the first set, Pahlevi opened his run in a dominating manner as he did not spare even a single chance for his opponent to put up resistance.
Until the mid-game interval, the in-form Pahlevi was miles ahead of his opponent on the score board.
After the break, Prakoso showed a few glimpses of his brilliance by playing attacking badminton but he failed to remain consistent and started to commit unforced errors.
In the meanwhile, Pahlevi continued his killing run in the first set and easily bagged it by a stunning 21-11 score on the board.
In the second game, Prakoso took initiative by playing attacking badminton and managed to remain equal to his rival.
On the other hand, Pahlevi tried to take an early lead but failed to overpower his opponent this time and remained struggling in the placement of shots in right areas.
Until the one-minute interval in second set, both Indonesians were quite close on score board.
After the break, they continued playing fast and attacking badminton and also employed all of their shots to build a reasonable lead.
However, none of them could take a comfortable lead until the score reached at 21-21 when Pahlevi showed his aggressive approach and finished up the set with a sensational score of 23-21.
Pahlevi won this second-round encounter in 35 minutes by a convincing 21-11 and 23-21 margin on the board.
