Jakarta Open 2012: Zarra Faza A punishes Amalia Meutia Putri in Women’s Singles second round
Indonesia’s talented player Zarra Faza A showed her elevated class when she punished Amalia Meutia Putri in Women’s Singles second round of Djarum Sirnas Flypower Jakarta Open 2012 on Thursday, May 17, in Indonesia.
The in-form Zarra, who is sixth seed in the main draw of Women’s Singles category, registered her superiority in the arena when she played with tremendous precision and trounced her lower ranked compatriot without showing any mercy.
The higher ranked Zarra was impressive when she put up an amazing show and ended up the title in straight games in just 20 minutes with a comprehensive score on the board.
On the other hand, Amalia was no match to her higher ranked compatriot as she could not show any resistance in the court and easily bowed down with a one-sided score.
The sixth seeded Zarra started her campaign in a dominating fashion as she played with impressive control and also dictated Amalia in all corners of the court.
The variations in Zarra’s shots disturbed the flow of Amalia who failed to put up good show in the court.
Until the mid-game break, it was the higher ranked Zarra who grabbed a remarkable advantage in the game by setting up a superb lead on the board.
After the break, Amalia tried to cope up with the pace of rallies but failed to break the rhythm of her higher ranked opponent.
In the meanwhile, Zarra continued her killing run in the court and managed to end the opening set with a staggering 21-6 score on the board.
In the following set, Amalia tried to play better badminton but failed to shake the balance of her rival who was in full control of rallies.
The in-form Zarra remained ahead on the board until the mid-game interval in second set.
After the break, Zarra continued her positive play without losing her focus in the court and managed to end up the second game with a remarkable 21-8 score on the board.
The higher ranked Zarra easily wrapped up victory in this lopsided second-round battle with a striking score of 21-6 and 21-8.
