Indonesia’s Fitriani continued his roller-coaster run in the arena and won the Girl’s Singles U19 title in style at DJARUM SIRKUIT NASIONAL Li Ning Jakarta Open 2013 on Saturday, May 18, in Jakarta.
In the final clash, the in-form Fitriani did not show any mercy to her compatriot Rena Asela and won the battle in a completely lopsided way in just 30 minutes.
The 7th seeded Indonesian shuttler was at her best on court as she moved in all corners quite quickly and did not let her opponent to settle down at any stage. She remained in complete command of the rallies and finished up the battle with a dominating margin
of 21-15 and 21-13.
On the contrary, the fifth seeded Rena failed to maintain her staggering performance against her lower ranked compatriot. She failed to cope up with the immense pressure and eventually crashed out without getting a respectable total.
Right from the opening points, the in-form Fitriani set up a good pace of rallies and she did not let her opponent to dominate the pace.
Fitriani was comfortable in making fast drives in all areas of her rival’s court. Her impressive defensive shots did not left any room for her higher ranked challenger to earn points.
Until the one-minute break, it was the impressive Fitriani who continued playing with remarkable precision and managed to end up the first set with a convincing margin of 21-15.
In the second game, Rena showed a few glimpses of her skill and earned points but failed to stretch her domination as her rival started to pace up rallies.
Fitriani became aggressive in her approach and she did not miss any chance to finish off rallies. Until the break, she was far ahead on the board.
After the break, the lower ranked Fitriani stayed on track without showing mercy to her opponent. Her smashes landed in right areas that kept her on driving seat.
Rena tried to narrow the gap by playing attacking shots but she failed to take any considerable advantage. Meanwhile, Fitriani stayed on track and finished off the set with a lopsided margin of 21-13 and ended up the match in a convincing manner.
