Jake Noonan suffers head injury after a fall in Flemington – Horse Racing news
Jake Noonan, the Victorian apprentice has suffered an injury to his head after falling off the horse he was riding at the race event in Flemington.
The young rider did not regain consciousness for about 10 minutes after he hit the ground with his head. The worried officials gather around and put Noonan in a neck brace to safeguard him from any more damage. Afterwards, the injured apprentice was rushed
off to the hospital to avoid any serious damage as a result of the fall.
The horse that Noonan was riding is known by the name of Safe. It is a three year old that has had the honour of being under the training of Lee Freedman. The race event in which the accident occurred was the Veolia Environmental Services.
The track on which the race was being run was 1200m long in all. However, Noonan could not get Safe past the 200m mark, where the accident took place. This is not the first time that Noonan has suffered an accident due to falling off the horse. The first
of the two episodes took place at Sandown some months earlier. After the first fall that Noonan had, the young rider was not able to recall how the accident had taken place.
Noonan is the son of the famous trainer, Tony Noonan. Apart from the accidents, Noonan has had quite a lot of successes to highlight his young career with. The young rider has had the honour of riding as a winner in a total number of 36 live horseracing
events only in this season so far. Having achieved these many wins has enabled Noonan to be in a tie position with Craig Newitt. Both Noonan and Newitt are placed at number four according to the jockey’s premiership.
These two are tagging behind Luke Nolen, Craig Williams as well as Ben Melham. Nolen is leading the group with an impressive number of 61 wins. Trailing behind are Williams with 48 victories of his own in this season so far. Melham has been able to register
38 victories in this season so far.
