Jake The Snake in contention for winning Chichester Observer Apprentice Stakes (Handicap)
Jake The Snake has got a great chance of claiming the Chichester Observer Apprentice Stakes (Handicap) at Goodwood in England on Friday, August 24, 2012. He has got plenty of experience and has been delivering some good results with consistency throughout
the ongoing season, which will make him a major threat for his opponents.
There are some other solid contenders for victory in the race as well and one of them is One Last Dream, who has been rated as the outright favourite to succeed today. This is a bit surprising though, as he has just managed to win a single event in his career
and lacks the experience compared to some of his main rivals.
Furthermore, the favourite runner brought up his maiden victory in the sport on a soft track whereas the going will be good at Goodwood. He will not like the conditions at all, thus the punters will be reluctant to risk money on him.
On the other hand, Jake The Snake is experienced enough to tackle with pressure situations and he can deliver a winning result on any ground. Due to this, he has been given a general starting price of 8 to 1 by the bookmakers and the punters will also be
eager to place a few bets on him.
The veteran runner has participated in a total of 54 races, winning 11 of them. Other than that, he has finished as a runner up on 10 occasions whereas secured the third spot on the same number of times. This clearly shows that he can be extremely competitive
with consistency and his opponents will find it hard to win against him.
The Tony Carroll’s trainee started off his career strongly in December 2003 and his performances since then have been really impressive. He has made his team proud on many occasions and still seems to have the potential to battle for victories regularly.
During the 2012 season, the 11-year-old gelding has enjoyed a pretty decent time. He has participated in seven races this year, winning a couple of them. He failed to make a solid impression last time around, but has a solid chance of making amends. His
partner today will be Brendan Powell, who partnered him in the previous race as well.
