Jake White to be Brumbies Coach – Super Rugby update
It has been leaked that Brumbies will be interviewing Jake White for the head coach post for the club. It was already rumoured that he has already been offered the post, nut the rumours were constantly denied by the Brumbies management.
Jake White is a rugby union coach, who is famously known for coaching the Springboks, the South African elite squad. He was the head coach to the side that lifted the 2007 Rugby World Cup and was also coaching the Tri Nations winning side that held the title
in 2004. The South African under 21 team that won the 2002 World Cup was also coached by White. He has a lot under the belt as a coach and was already being offered from different places. The 48 year old South African coach has one of the best winning ratio,
which was clearly visible after 2007 World Cup victory. Other than New Zealand and France, he has a winning ratio of 50 % or above with other countries, including 100 % winning ratio with ten other countries. South African side was on 6th on World ranking
when he arrived in 2004 and he took it to the first position till 2007.
Any side would be craving for such a coach, but Andrew Fagan denied the rumours for offering him the post earlier. Though, it has been reported that he has been opted and will be interviewed.
Fagan said, “I can confirm he has applied and will be interviewed.”
Brumbies sacked Andy Friend from the post of head coach after the worst Super Rugby season so far. And Friend was also reported to be having a major clash with few of the players of the team. The Canberra based club is being lead by Tony Rea, as a boss.
Brumbies is currently standing at the tenth position, after winning just one match out of six played this season. They currently have 13 points and have a terrible negative 54 point difference. Stormers are leading the table with 29 points and six wins out
of six fixtures played. Cheetahs are bottoming the table with just eight points in the almost empty bag.
