Jakub Lustyk and Ricardo Rodriguez enter into the second qualifying round – Szczecin Challenger 2012
Jakub Lustyk defeats Marcin Chlebowski 6-2, 6-0
Czech professional, Jakub Lustyk, fought past the local challenger, Marcin Chlebowski, in the initial qualifying round of the Szczecin Challenger 2012, in Poland. Lustyk summed up his 6-2, 6-0 win on the eve
of Saturday.
The 23-year-old Lustyk successfully held his initial serve in the opener and marked a 2-1 lead in the third game. Initially, the Pole provided his challenger with a tough competition and evened out the scores
to 2-all in the next game. The Czech contestant effectively busted his rival’s serve in the sixth game, marking a 4-2 score. He nudgeed his rival and closed the initial set with a 6-2 score line.
Lustyk confidently maintained his initial serve in the next set and did not give a single chance to his opponent to dominate the game plan. He broke Chlebowski’s serve in every single game and breezed past to
conclude the match with a 6-0 win.
The Czech professional displayed 66 percent initial serve and capitalized 17 of 21 first and 11 of 11 second delivery points. On the other hand, the Pole had a low initial serve of 45 percent, bagging away nine
of 19 first and eight of 23 second serve points.
Ricardo Rodriguez overcomes Adam Chadaj 1-6, 6-4, 6-4
Ranked 468th in the ATP World Tour Rankings, Ricardo Rodriguez trounced the local challenger, Adam Chadaj in the first qualifying round of the Szczecin Challenger. The Venezuelan contender summed his
1-6, 6-4, 6-4 win later that day.
The 28-year-old Pole surprising drew the first blood and broke Rodriguez initial serve to gain momentum. He tied up the opportunity and secured the initial three games in a row. Gradually, the Venezuelan candidate
managed to bag away a single game but was unable to continue it further. Chadaj busted his rival’s serve again and wrapped up his outstanding 6-1 win.
The second set completely changed the momentum, as the 19-year-old Venezuelan topped the score line. However, he was unable to sustain his initial serve and Chadaj grabbed a chance to mark his 2-love lead. The
pattern reversed when the scores squared down to 2-all in the fourth game. The Pole provided his challenger with a tough comeback but Rodriguez nudged past his opponent to secure the last two games, concluding a 6-4 win.
Although, the left-hander Polish professional struggled hard to regain his lost impetus in the decider, the battle seemed endless and disappointing for him. He levelled the scores once i.e. to 2-all in the fourth
game but was unable to overcome his Venezuelan. Rodriguez felt threatened and immediately won the last two games and to a 6-4 win in the match.
