Jalal-ud-Din wants PCB to hold high performance camps on regular basis – Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s former Test cricketer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jalal-ud-Din-c65363 on Monday, December 26, 2011 urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to hold high performance camps on regular basis to help lift the standard of cricketers in the country.
“It’s time Pakistan started sending it players to conditioning camps so that their mental, physical and technical mistakes could be eradicated,” Jalal said.
Over the past decade Pakistan has seen the arrival of many young players in international arena, who after a short while lost their place in the national team either due to injuries or lack of consistent performance.
It is believed that performance camps would help Pakistan players prepare themselves to face the harsh challenges of international cricket.
These camps have done wonders for England, who have sent their players to improve their performance even after giving a commendable show at the highest level. England sent pacers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SCJ-Broad-c2465 in the high performance camps to fine tune their techniques even after they had given an impressive show in international cricket.
Due to such radical steps, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 are now the number-one team in Test cricket and are aiming to rise in the 50-over format.
Jalal insisted that it was the responsibility of the team management to scrutinise the performance of the players and recommend their names for induction in the camps.
“There should be coordination among the team management, selectors and the officials of National Cricket Academy (NCA) so that they can pick players with consensus, who need conditioning. At the NCA the weaknesses of the players can be turned into their strengths,” the 52-year-old former pacer opined.
He, however, revealed that currently when a player underperforms, he is sent back in domestic cricket where he grabs a few wickets or scores impressively to earn a place back in the national team to eventually fail again.
In the high performance camps, the players are taught how to take international pressure and how to maintain a steady performance which is essential for a prolonged international career.
Jalal argued that with these camps running in the country, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 would always have players ready to be injected in international arena.
