Jalaluddin urges for a skillful coach hunter – Cricket News Update
Former Pakistani pace man, Jalaluddin, has recommended the Pakistan Cricket board to include specialists in the selection committee, who could aid them properly in getting the best coaches for the national team.
Following the resignation of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Syed-Zaheer-Abbas-Kirmani-c92392 to aid the PCB in finding the best person for the vacant position. However, Jalal was
baffled by their appointments as he felt that all were incompetent in carrying out their duties diligently – mainly due to the lack of technological knowhow.
“As far as I know, the trio does not have any idea on how to operate the softwares, named in the PCB’s advertisement [for the post of bowling coach], themselves,” said Jalal.
The same committee had recently recruited http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aaqib-Javed-c41431 left the post to take up a stint with
the UAE national side.
The former right-arm pacer, who is a strong contender for the available position, is of the opinion that the recruiters must keep close tabs on the latest methodology of training, which could ultimately aid them in selecting the most qualified candidate.
“They’ve been top players but there’s a need to include a member who knows modern-day coaching,” Jalal suggested
The 52-year old former pacer has represented http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 and Australia and retains the honour of taking the first
ever hat-trick in the limited-overs game, against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in 1982.
At the moment, the veteran is running a cricket academy “Customs Cricket Academy” in Karachi, where he, along with other cricketing experts is engaged in grooming the younger generation.
Jalal further expressed his confidence in the ability of the new head coach, Whatmore and believes that the former Sri Lankan mentor can find the best bowling coach.
“He should interview at least four to five candidates and then have a one-on-one. He won’t be biased and he is the better judge because he can identify who possesses the knowledge,” said Jalaluddin.
