  1. vinegar! it does wonders for a variety of things... google it! remember not to rub your eye either or contact it with other mucous membranes!

  2. You can mask it with tooth paste or baking soda. This will stop the burn.

  3. Wash hands with soap for 2 mins vigorously.  Dip hands in vinegar, don't wash off.  Works like a charm.

I have this same problem and always touch my eyes.  Hate that!

  4. Put some cream or oil. It might help

  5. soak them in milk

or soak them in bakings soda with water

    don't use soap

and they are other things to try too

but they only help for a little while

  6. use rubber gloves.

  7. Don't cut jalapenos. Buy them already sliced and pickeled. Can't take the heat stay out the kitchen.

  8. Vinegar

  9. I always wonder why we eat things that are so strong they kill our taste buds.  Anyway,  when I have to handle jalapenos or any other very strong pepper (some of the Oriental peppers make Jalapenos taste like cool water)  I drip cooking oil over my hands and do the cutting under running water.  As soon as I am done I wash with liquid soap and rinse my knives, cutting board. etc. If your skin is very sensitive, pick up a box of surgical gloves at the drug store and wear them.  They are disposable and will protect your skin from harm.

Honestly, I don't use fresh Jalapenos any more, since the contamination scare.  The canned are good and no fear of bacteria.
