  1. Montego bay is a good place to experience, there's also Negril, go see for yourself there's also other equally beautiful resort towns along the north coast of Jamaica, Stupidity knows no boudaries, any where in this world you go, there'll always be stupid people, try to be safe even in your own land. Go 'fulljoy' your life. you deserved it. Montego Bay awaits your arrival. One Love

  2. MoBay is fairly safe.  Pictures show the best of a place.  My personal problem with MoBay is that there is no "downtown"--it's spread out.  The resorts have their separate individual man made (in several cases) beaches.  If I was going, I'd have to choose Negril (for the partying); resorts between MoBay and Ocho Rios (for the beach) or near Port Antonio (for nature/quiet).  Like mentioned, there isn't much to see in Kingston and that's a good area to avoid.  Regardless of where you end up, get off the resort and enjoy the people, just be street smart.

  3. No, Montego Bay is great! The people are friendly and its a nice place to vacation. I had a good time there and was safe the whole time. The place you must not go to is the capital Kingston, its VERY dangerous there, especially for Americans.

  4. Lived in montego bay for 20years love all the other parish not gonna say montego bay is the best just that it has more tourist than any of the other parish.

  5. Hey, you have received some really good answers. it's true that we do have a few problems with crime, but the majority of Jamaicans are by nature fun-loving, accepting and helpful. We do have some of the best natural resources on earth. In terms of being safe, just do what you would do if you were in new york city or in the innercities of Paris. I have lived in Paris, and was told not to go a number of places, its pays to get tips beforehand, take the advices, play it safe and just go and have the experience of a lifetime. I guarantee you will enjoy yourself. You will also be very safe on teh resorts, no doubt about it.

  6. Well I was born and raised and live in Montego Bay Jamaica. Montego Bay is not 'bad'!! (People only get into real trouble if they are involved in gangs or drugs or something so no need to worry. We ensure the care and protection of our tourists because it's our main income). The best choice is to go with an all inclusive hotel so they provide everything you can possibly need and don't try to venture off (esp. alone) to go 'explore' the island. It's much bigger than most people think.

Montego Bay has a lot of fun things to do so if fun is what you are looking for I suggest that you go to a hotel like Holiday Inn, Coyaba, Sunset Beach, Decameron, Sandals, Wyndham or any other. The websites will tell you what they offer. If you are still skeptical, try Negril or Ocho Rios. They have similar offerings and Hotel Riu (both locations) is lotts of fun!! If you are looking for romance the best hotels are Sandals and Couples.

    Hope I helped

If you go to Mo-Bay be sure to visit Doctor's cave... It's the prettiest beach on Earth!!

  7. your people are wrong.  I went to Jamaica and stayed at Holiday inn Sunspree Resort in Montego Bay and had a great time.  I went into the town of Montego Bay itself a couple times, one night we went to a restaurant called Pier One in Montego Bay, it was really fun.  The food was excellent, then at night a lot of locals came into the place and they had an open mic night.  The atmosphere was so friendly, my wife and I had a blast.  We just went to the Bahamas last week, it was okay, but did not compare to the great time we had in Jamaica, can't wait to go back.

  8. You have been misinformed...

I went there just this summer and I had an AWESOME time. there are so many things to do, whether you want to relax on a beach or go on tours or whatever it is youre into. Just know that because this is a huge tourist spot, some things might be slightly expensive.

Any place is unsafe if you lack common sense. Dont do anything you wouldnt do in other countries, like flash money around or anything like that.

Trust me, in a trip to Jamaica, a fun time is guaranteed!!
