Jamaica versus U.S.A – Gold Cup: Second half review (Part 2)

Taylor was a victim of frustration as he brought down Jermaine Jones as the midfielder was sent clean through on goal due to Michael Bradley’s through pass. Bradley’s pass opened up space for his team mate but Taylor made sure that Jones didn’t reach the ball.
The referee spotted this infringement and as Taylor was the last man between Jones and the goalkeeper, his tackle on the American midfielder was deemed worthy of a red card. With their inspirational defender sent off, Jamaica were pinned down by U.S.A as the home team moved in for an adrenaline filled end to the match. In the 74th and the 75th minute respectively, Jamaica and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maurice-Edu-c24896 for the home side. In the 77th minute, U.S.A closed in for the killer blow when Donovan played in Kljestan inside the Jamaican penalty area. However the former Bayern Munich midfielder applied too much pace on his pass as Ricketts came out of his six yard box and claimed the ball.

The L.A Galaxy midfielder left the ball for Clint Dempsey but the Fulham man played it back to Donovan who was in an offside position when he was played in by Dempsey. In the 80th minute, U.S.A got their second goal of the match and virtually sealed their win much to the delight of a rapturous crowd at the RFK stadium. Agudelo was sent through on goal by Kljestan but the young striker squared the ball for Clint Dempsey who found himself in hectares of space. The Fulham midfielder made no mistake with his tap in as the score line reached 2-0 in favour of the home side.
Just before the match ended after the two minutes of added time, Daley had a good chance to claim a consolation strike for U.S.A. But the Jamaican striker failed to beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Howard-c35095 who produced an acrobatic save to retain his team’s clean sheet. Thus the match finally came to an end and courtesy of their two goal win over Jamaica; U.S.A progressed to the semi finals of the Gold Cup.
