  1. US dollars are actually very good to bring when going to Jamaica since it's worth way more than it is in America. Bring US dollars to Jamaica and they'll gladly change it into jamaican dollars if you want or you can just spend your US dollars without changing it into jamaican dollars.

  2. You obviously think that just because they are both called dollars they are the same but the JA dollar is like having a US cent or UK penny.

  3. Jamaica's currency is the Jamaican dollar, not to be confused with the U.S. dollar. The value of the Jamaican dollar fluctuates but as of Friday, January 11, 2008, 5 Jamaican Dollar = 0.07168 US Dollar.

  4. 1.00 JMD = 0.0141343 USD, so...

    5.00 JMD = 0.0706714 USD

  5. I can see that you haven't travelled much as you would know that there are many currencies that are worth much less when converted to USD.  It takes about 114 yen to buy one USD, does that make Japanese money worthless?

PS: I hope you'll feel the same way about the USD when you compare it to the Euro, Pound and Canadian Dollar in a few years.
