James Anderson Admits learning Tricks from Zaheer Khan
James Anderson, the right arm fast-medium bowler from England has revealed that it were the tricks he had learnt from Zaheer Khan, the Indian pacer, which have helped him in emerging as a lethal bowler.
Anderson, who has been the main contributor on bowling front in retaining the Ashes series against Australia, further disclosed that it was Zaheer Khan who had told him about how to hide the ball so that the batsman may not get to know about which way it
would swing.
The English bowler, who had been in a disastrous form in the Ashes series held in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 four years ago, disclosed that in order to hone his skills, he had sought help and learned from a number of international cricketers.
“I picked up a lot from Mohammad Asif when he was in England, how he hit the seam and could swing and wobble the ball. He is a world-class bowler and I try to learn and develop different kinds of deliveries from that” Anderson was quoted in an English newspaper.
According to him, for learning and perfecting the essential skills like swing, reverse swing and the seam, a bowler needed to change his attitude as body language had got to play an important role for the bowlers. For him, it was all about being positive.
Anderson, who has prevailed as the highest wicket-taker in the ongoing Ashes series, disclosed that before working with his style, people had been telling him to improve his body language, and when he himself looked into the matter with greater care, he
could see that it wasn’t good enough.
Talking about the way the former coach Peter Moores had supported him, Anderson said, “We were in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-Moores-c81848 wanted
me to lead the attack and gave me a lot of responsibility. That boosted my confidence and things have gone from there.”
The medium-fast bowler was of the view that he had always been well aware of his ability and potential to perform better, even at the time when he was not doing very well. But since he put his efforts in improving himself, it simply reformed his game and
helped him to become what he was today, someone who was regarded as an impressive English performer.
