James Anderson desires to play IPL – Cricket News Update
English fast bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JM-Anderson-c1705, has voiced his desire to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to prove that he is competent enough to play Twenty20 cricket for the national side.
The veteran of 63 Test matches and 151 ODIs termed IPL as an ideal platform to pave his way in to the English Twenty20 squad.
According to the right-arm speedster, who has always been right on the switch with his pace bowling in the longer format of the game despite not getting a regular chance in Twenty20 cricket, asserted that he is looking forward
to serve the country in 20-over cricket consistently.
“I would like to play in the IPL. I see the IPL as a way of showing I can play Twenty20 cricket and that’s why I want to go out there. I would like to get back into the side on a regular basis,” Anderson said while talking to the
media.
Furthermore, the 29-year-old paceman, who recently guided http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, said that he has not been earning an opportunity to play Twenty20 cricket in the domestic ranks of the country.
The fast bowler, who represents Lancashire in English County cricket, cited that the international players must get opportunities to play domestic T20 fixtures.
“And as an international cricketer I don’t get to play domestic Twenty20 cricket and I think we should be able to,” Anderson added.
Meanwhile, he also urged ECB to improve the cricketing structure of the country, highlighting an example of the inclusion of the foreign cricketers in the Australian domestic Twenty20 league, the Big Bash.
Anderson, who has taken 240 Test and 204 ODI wickets so far, added that domestic cricket should be an entertainment package for the crowd, which will help promote the scope of the shorter format of the game.
“I quite like what http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 have done with the Big Bash and the franchise system. English cricket is a long way away from that, but it must be exciting for fans over there getting to see even more international cricketers playing
in their domestic competition,” the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806-born expressed.
