James Anderson feels fine ahead of Ashes
A pleasant news for England is that their fast bowler James Anderson feels just fine ahead of the Ashes, Anderson bowled with full pace in his 22 overs against Western Australia in a warm-up match.
Anderson, who had not been put through vigorous training routines because of a fractured rib, had a full day of competitive cricket against Western Australia where he not only proved his fitness but also managed to impress the English management by bowling some very impressive overs.
Anderson fractured his rib in a pre-Ashes training camp in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Germany-c2904, but now the pacer feels he is back to his best, and the fractured rib is not causing any bother at all. Anderson said, “ To break a bone in your body is a bit of a worry and I was a bit worried the first week after it happened- it was quite sore- but once I got training again and running again I didn’t feel it so I was pretty confident that I would be fine.”
The comeback of James Anderson is a positive sign for the English side. Previously, they were a bit worried about his condition and there were fears that the strike bowler might not be able to feature against the Australians in the first Test. However, now with the return of his fitness, it seems highly unlikely that he will be rested in the first Test.
James Anderson along with fellow lanky pacer Stuart Broad will surely cause problems for the already suffering Australian side. The pacer, who made his Test debut in 2003 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045, has been phenomenal for England ever since. A fully fit Anderson will definitely make things a lot difficult for the Aussie batsmen when they face the English in the first Test at Brisbane on November 25th.
James Anderson is not the only one who is ready to have a go at the Aussies, fellow pacer Stuart Broad also made his intentions clear when he gained three wickets on the first day of their warm-up game against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865.
Broad took two back-to-back wickets in the second over, startling the opposing side at the very beginning of the day’s play. The rest of the English bowlers also had a good day in the field, showing their dominance and forcing the Western Australian side to declare on 242 runs for 8.
The English bowlers are not alone fired up; the entire English team wants to have a go at the Australians. The English wicketkeeper Matt Prior wants his team to get in the habit of winning as soon as possible, he knows that once a team gets in the habit of winning it is very difficult to beat them.
Prior is confident that the English side will do better against the Australians in this year’s Ashes and the Australians will have to face staunch opposition from the English. England have all the confidence they need to go into this Ashes, let us see if they can match their words with their actions, when they play against the Australians.
