England pacer James Anderson is confident about his prospects at the Gabba in the first Test against Australia on 25 November in Brisbane.
Anderson showed his fine form by taking three wickets on the second day of a warm-up match against South Australia at Adelaide. Anderson’s performance comes on a pitch which is relatively batsman friendly, and was being considered as a good place for the
batsmen to perform.
Along James Anderson it was none other than England’s spin wizard Greame Swann. The spinner managed to take four wickets. Anderson had nothing but praises for the English spinner who has had very successful year.
Anderson said that when Swann does well, it is basically expected of him to do so, every time they take the field it is expected of Swann to do well.
The two bowlers who shared seven wickets helped bowl out the hosts for 221 runs in their first innings, 67 runs short of England’s first innings total.
This might well be the last practice match for England ahead of the Ashes. The ECB might want to rest its top players for the third and final warm-up match against Australia A at Hobart.
James Anderson supports the idea of missing the third warm-up match and believes that such an approach might benefit the players.
Even though England are likely to win or at least draw this match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Australia-c844, Anderson has accepted the fact that England’s preparations have not been smooth. The top batting line-up has not been up to the mark and the bowlers have had a few
bad spells as well.
