James Anderson heads home for the birth of his child
James Anderson was the hero for England in the second Test at Adelaide. It was in this clash, where he managed to bag six wickets. The match winning bowler left his squad, a few hours after the conclusion of the second Test.
The England team has confirmed that he left the squad to head back to England, to attend the birth of his second child. The coach Andy Flower said that he understood the repercussions and assured that he will be back in time, to make preparations for the third Test, in Perth.
"He left last night, and he's going to be there for the birth of his child. We hope everything goes well, and he'll be back a few days before the Perth Test", Andy Flower said.
Other players, who have been allowed to head back home, in the past, were Strauss, Flintoff and Pietersen. They were only allowed to do this under extenuating circumstances. Andy Flower believes that it is this balance, between the management and the players, that helps bring out the best in them.
"We've got to try to balance what's important to our cricket team and also what's important to these guys in their personal lives. Their family lives, relationships and children obviously come above cricket”, Flower stated.
He also stated that they have set a precedent in the past for players heading back home during an ongoing series for the birth of their child. However, this decision only depends on the player.

This is because the players feel there is still a long way to go. He stated that the players completely understand the enormity of the challenge that awaits them and did not let their emotions get the better of them.
