James Anderson keen to do well in ICC Champions Trophy 2013 – Cricket news

The cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806 is considered to be one of the best in the business in the longer format of the game. However, he has been a touch inconsistent in the limited-overs version of the sport, which is the reason why he has been excluded from the 50-over and T20 squads in past.
The right-arm swing bowler hopes that he will be given a chance to prove his credentials in the Champions Trophy and is confident that he can help his side do well in the tournament.
“There's always an incentive when you go into a competition like that. I hope if I get picked in the team this time I can help us progress in the competition,” Anderson expressed.
Champions Trophy was last held in England in 2004 and the home team was defeated in the final of the event by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AN-Cook-c1026 and company would be able to turn the tables this time.
“It's going to be a big tournament for us. I was part of the squad for the Champions Trophy in 2004 when it was last in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013. We got to the final of that and lost out unfortunately,” he added. “I hope we can go one better this time. We've never won a 50-over ICC competition, so it's something we're looking to as a real challenge for us.”
England were considered to be the favourites of the tournament before the start of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754.
However, after getting beaten comprehensively in the opening two fixtures, analysts are raising question marks over England’s ability to do well in the limited-overs formats regularly.
