James Anderson takes third spot in ICC rankings
Following the heroics of James Anderson, in the second Adelaide Test, he has moved past Zaheer Khan to claim the third spot in the World ICC bowling rankings.
The twenty-eight year old fast bowler took six wickets in the second Test and now moves behind fellow English bowler, Graeme Swann, who sits at second place.
Graeme Swann has also moved to within 14 points of leading bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dale-c52110 Steyn, who is currently placed at the top of the table. If Swann is able to repeat his performance at Perth and Melbourne, he could secure his place at the top of the charts by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Trott, who has played an impressive knock in both the first and second Test, has moved up to sixth place in the batting rankings of the ICC. He scored a century in the second innings of the first Test, and followed that up with a well fought 78. The twenty-nine year old English batsman is probably the highest ranked English batsman.
Alastair Cook jumped nine places to sit behind him in 13th spot.
Kevin Pietersen, who scored a brilliant double century in the first innings of the Adelaide Test has jumped 12 places to replace Ricky Ponting at the 16th spot. His innings has now helped him to return into the top 20, in the ICC rankings.
Mike Hussey, who has come forward as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s savior, has also risen to the 14th slot in the World ICC rankings. Peter Siddle, after his dismal performance in the Ashes, has dropped to 17th place in the bowling rankings. The Sri Lankan bowler, Ragana Herath, moved up to 24th place after his four for 54.
As far as the all rounder rankings are concerned there have been no major changes at the top of the table.

Chris Gayle has dropped five spots in the rankings chart, after his team managed to draw the Test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758. The Sri Lankan captain, Kumar Sangakkara, sits at the top of the table for the ICC batting rankings. The batting maestro, Sachin Tendulkar, is in second place.
