http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JM-Anderson-c1705 wants to establish himself in limited-overs internationals – Cricket News Update
James Anderson, the England fast bowler, wants to improve his performance in limited-overs internationals but has no doubt that Test cricket remains the pinnacle of the game.
The 29-year-old is considered to be one of the finest fast bowlers of the world and is matchless when it comes to moving the ball in the air. He is currently holding the number three spot on International Cricket Council’s Test bowling
rankings, behind South Africa’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859.
However, Anderson’s credentials in limited-overs cricket have been often questioned, although he has grabbed 208 scalps in One Day Internationals. The right-arm fast bowler failed to deliver the goods in the ICC Cricket World Cup
2011, which was held in the sub-continent.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806 cricketer understands that he is now a senior player in the English team and should take the responsibility in all the versions of the game.
Off-late, Anderson has not been picked in the T20 squad but the fast bowler hopes that he will make his way back in the team before the upcoming http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World T20 2012.
“I have now played over 150 one-day internationals. I want to play for England in all forms of the game because it is always a great honour to play for your country and is a moment of great pride. And, hopefully, by playing well in
the one-day internationals, I can somehow force my way back into the Twenty20 side,” Anderson expressed.
Anderson is also eyeing a contract in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and for that he must find a permanent spot in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013’s limited-overs side.
Despite all the glamour attached with the shorter formats, Anderson is of the opinion that Test cricket is the most important version of the game and all the youngsters must keep this in mind while developing their skills.
The fast bowler added, “Test cricket is obviously the pinnacle of the game, but there is so much hype around Twenty20 cricket with competitions like the Indian Premier League, the World Cup and even our domestic T20 that I am keen to be involved.”
