England’s pace bowler, James Anderson, wants to participate in the money spinning Indian Premier League (IPL), in order to prove his skills in the Twenty20 format of cricket.
“I`m sure the selectors know my feelings. I want to play T20 cricket for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, I`m disappointed that I`m not and it`s down to me to persuade them I should be," he added.
The pacer, on Saturday became the second English bowler to claim 200 wickets in ODIs and Test cricket and thinks that the IPL would provide him the best opportunity to impress the selectors by his performance in the shortest format
of the game.
Anderson was not included in the England squad which won the 2010 World Twenty20.
"I understood my omission from the World T20 in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 last year on tactical grounds and the variety offered by Ryan Sidebottom`s left arm seam and swing, and the reasons for my absence ever since," he added.
The 29-year-old pacer has given brilliant performance in England’s recently concluded four-match Test series. He was the second highest wicket-taker of the series, claiming 21 wickets at an average of 25.71, including his best
bowling figures of 5/65.
Currently, he is playing in the five-match ODI series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and considers it as his top priority.
“But if I bowl well enough perhaps that will push me back into their thinking," Anderson told to media.
Anderson is keen to make his mark in the shortest format of the game, as the next World Twenty20 is scheduled for 2012.
The right-arm pacer has featured in 19 Twenty20 Internationals, where he claimed 18 wickets at an average of 30.66, including his best bowling innings of 3/23.
Bowling in 116 Test innings, he has claimed 240 wickets at an average of 30.57, including his best bowling figures of 7/43.
