James Blake gets wildcard entry into US Open
The American tennis player James Blake has been awarded a wild card entry into the upcoming summer Grand Slam. The US Open will start from 30th August and a wild card entry in it is definitely a good sign of hope for the struggling tennis player.
James Blake, who has been suffering from a knee injury, is still unable to find the right momentum of winning a major game since his comeback this year. A wild card entry into the US Open which will be held in New York is not going to be less than a test for him. The thirty-year old American, talented tennis player’s World ranking has dropped to 108, in less than a span of three years.  He has been able to reach the quarter finals stage of the US Grand Slam tournament earlier in 2005 and 2006, which is no doubt, proof of his talent and capability of playing brilliant tennis.
It is said that an injury can ruin the whole career of a professional athlete and it seems very true if we compare the current and previous playing form of this American athlete. He has been fighting to completely recover from his knee injury but it seems like it will take a few more months. It is to be remembered that Blake had faced a knee injury earlier this year and has been absent from the tennis scene for almost three months. The absence from the tennis court has dragged this American tennis star out of form and he is still frustrated and struggling to achieve the right playing strategy. Blake has lost five matches out of six played matches after his return, which is making this tennis player even more irritated and tense. It is also assumed that this player might retire from international tennis scene as he is not happy with the way everything is happening. After suffering a crushing defeat of 6-3 6-0 from a Russian qualifier, Denis Istomin in the Cincinnati Masters tournament, the struggling ace was compelled to think about his future in a different manner.
Despite his bad performance his fans are still very confident about him which is certainly a good sign for him. The high hopes of the fans and the American people from James Blake can give him confidence, which might help him in his upcoming matches and especially in the bigger stage of the US Open, which will start from 30th of August. He has the credit of beating the current World number one, Rafael Nadal in 2005 US Open event which is a solid proof of his sheer capacity. May be it is the right time for him to focus and concentrate more over his positive aspects of the game rather than focusing on improving the negative ones.
The thirty-year old tennis player James Blake has been struggling to grasp the winning mental and physical fitness for the past eighteen months and still has not been able to achieve the required ambitions and goals. His performance in the US Open will uncover most of his future plans about his international tennis career. His participation in the final Grand Slam of the tennis season is probably the last chance for James Blake to redeem himself. All he needs is a good start with a dramatic improvement to show the World that he is still worthy of tennis stardom. Confidence and mental stability are the keys to achieve the unaccomplished, and James Blake is probably failing to grasp these two major winning elements of the game. As an admirer we can hope for the best and cheer for him.
