James Blake marries his girl friend Emily Snider – Tennis News
Former world number four, James Blake, exchanged wedding rings with her girl friend, Emily Snider, on 9th November at Del Mar, California. The wedding was attended by several celebrities and tennis stars including their five months old daughter,
Riley Elizabeth.
The tennis star, who will be 33-year-old next month, was dating the publicist, Snider, since 2008. They were blessed with a baby girl in June and finally decided to marry this month at the beachfront L’Auberge Del Mar hotel in Los Angeles.
Snider was wearing a wedding gown by Ines DiSanto while Blake wore a Hugo Boss suit on their special occasion.
"Emily looked absolutely smashing and James was getting plenty of backhanded compliments too," Daily Mail reported about the wedding.
Blake’s brother Thomas served as best man while his brother-in-law Jason Snider stood besides the bride. Riley Elizabeth, who was in hands of Snider’s mother Kathy Snider, also participated in the ceremony. Snider’s nephew Frank, who is three-year-old, served
as the ring bearer.
Former world number one Andy Roddick, Mardy Fish, Robby Ginepri, Sam Querrey and America’s current number one John Isner attended the star studded wedding. They were among 150 guests who attended the ceremony.
Other guests included former NFL Player and ESPN analyst Marcellus Wiley – who served as DJ in this event, New York Yankees Nick Swisher and his wife, JoAnna Garcia – an Actress. Singer Tyrone Wells was also among the guests.
Wells stated in a social networking site about the function:
“Stoked to be playing at James Blake & his fiancée, Emily's wedding today. I've been watching him play tennis for years. I'm a fan.”
The wedding took place after Blake suffered a drastic season. He started the season standing at number 57 at the South African Airways ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) World Tour Rankings in Memphis. The veteran failed to find his rhythm in the
ATP World Tour and fell to a six-match losing streak including opening round losses at the French Open and Wimbledon Championships. As a result, he fell out from Top 100 in the ATP rankings.
The 32-year-old snapped out from it at the Atlanta Tennis Championships and reached quarters in Washington, his best performance this season in an ATP event.
However, Blake re-focused in the end of the circuit and managed to capture a title at the Sacramento Challenger last month. He is currently standing at number 128 in the South African Airways ATP World Tour Rankings and is eyeing to improve his game in the
upcoming season.
