James DeGale: Frank Warren Promotions and I are history – Boxing news
James DeGale, Britain’s young pugilist who has proudly represented his country and won several gold and silver medals in Olympics, is currently facing a rough tide after deciding and announcing his separation from his official promoter, Frank Warren Promotions.
DeGale, also the proud owner of his country’s apex Member of the Order of the British Empire honour, is a young, prudent, talented and pounding 25-year-old pugilist who has secured fourth seed in the super middleweight division by his emphatic show of strength,
resilience and pugilism.
James, infamous as the chunky started his professional career in 2008 and since then in a total of 12 bouts he has lost just one. In this young age he has already tasted the sweetness of wearing a gold round his waist by not only capturing the British super
middleweight title but also the WBA International super middleweight gold.
Currently, after winning a strenuous 12-round brawl against Piotr Wilczewski, the British southpaw owns the European Super middleweight title. Echo Arena’s unanimous victory has also enabled James to secure 21st place in the world rankings.
Recently James made his place in the media when he announced that he is rescinding the contract with his promoter and will now part ways with them. The original statement which was forwarded in the media by James representatives was, "I think it is time
for both of us to move on."
James’ above statement which was thrown in the media on Friday was promptly replied by his promoters. The detailed reply was, "We have seen the press reports today in which James DeGale states that he is to split from his manager Frank Warren, this is not
true; James DeGale is in fact under contract until April 14, 2013."
The detailed account of the conflict is not yet available but analysts are predicting that something uneasy is going on in this particular matter. Critics are corroborating their claim by the fact that DeGale was bound to fight Jose Maria Guerrero on January
27, 2012 but the bout did not happen due to reasons untold and unreported.
DeGale allowed Frank Warren and Co to become his promoter in 2008 and since then the young man and the corporate guys have been undergoing a harmonic relationship. The ball is now in James’ court who needs to come up with the genuine reason which made him
reach such a conclusive decision.
