James DeGale predicts he will knockout George Groves within four rounds – Boxing news
James DeGale, who is going to defend his British and Commonwealth title against George Groves, has upped the stakes ahead of his fight as he has claimed he would knockout the super middleweight champion within the first four rounds.
The fight between both pugilists, which will be witnessed by many fans with great interest, is to be held this Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the O2 Arena, London.
“I've said from day dot within four rounds. That's if he comes to fight me. But trust me, the fight won't go twelve rounds,” stated DeGale.
He also added, “The weights been good, I feel fantastic and I'm raring to go now. I just can't wait. Prepare yourself George 'cos on May 21st your getting it.”
The 25-year-old also told the media that his opponent wants him to be the villain inside the ring.
“He want's me to play the villain. But people that know me, they know that I'm humble and grounded. They know I'm just a normal boy. But listen, I'm here now to fight George Groves and we do not like each other so what do you expect,” he said.
The Chunky DeGale who has won all of his ten fights with eight knockouts, was conveyed that the WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch is looking to have a bout with the winner of this fight in a homecoming after the Super Six.
DeGale responded and said it would be fantastic. He said first he will get rid of Groves and then he surely will rub shoulders with him. He was very enthusiastic as he reckons his fight with Froch would be a fantastic world title fight.
DeGale however returned to his upcoming fight with his old rival Groves and said that he was leagues above his opponent and his jab was long from which people cannot get past.
Let’s see if DeGale can really knockout Groves within the first four rounds or not.
