James Fanshawe skeptic about Primaeval’s participation in the Royal Hunt Cup
The James Fanshawe trained, Primaeval, performed brilliantly in the Wright Joinery Company Stakes at Goodwood on 24th May, 2012, where he banked on his 5-2 winning chance and emerged victorious from the seven furlong track coupled
with female jockey, Hayley Turner.
With his brisk pace and determination, he set the track ablaze and finished 2 lengths ahead of David Simcock’s charge, Noble Citizen, whereas the Chris Wall trained finished third, half-length behind the runner.
The winning trainer was pleased with the way the runner performed, but is skeptic whether his runner should compete in the Royal Hunt Cup because it stretches over a mile, and the six-year-old is more comfortable over shorter tracks.
The son of Pivotal, out of mare Langoustine, is currently on a hat-trick, since he bagged a magnificent victory in the New William Hill iPhone App Conditions Stakes at 11 to 10.
The chestnut gelding took advantage of his market popularity, and with his swift pace and motivation, conquered the track as he finished half-length before Mrs. K. Burke’s charge Rodrigo De Torres, stealing the victory right under his nose.
The Foncey Syndicate owned runner bagged the victory of his career in the Happy Birthday Sara Maiden Stakes at Redcar on 16th October, 2009, where he defeated, Star Addition, by 2 ½ lengths, under rider Hayley Turner.
The trainer stated that the runner ran incredibly well at Goodwood, and he had no trouble switching from All-Weather to turf.
To the press, Fanshawe stated:
"I'm not sure if he'll run in the Hunt Cup or the Buckingham Palace but I think he's better over seven furlongs.”
"Nothing is set in stone yet, but it could be the Buckingham Palace."
Fanshawe also trains Society Rock, who will compete in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in the same race where Australian mare Black Caviar will be competing.
The trainer said:
"We're aiming towards Royal Ascot and he seems to like it there. It was good to see that form get a big boost with the horse of Kevin Ryan's (Tiddliwinks) winning well in Ireland at the weekend.”
