James Feigen wins Men’s 100m freestyle title: Day three – 2011 World University Games
James Feigen of United States and Giedrius Titenis of Lithuania put up a show great show on day three of the 2011 World University Games in Shenzhen, China, on Tuesday, August 16. The session of the meet conducted the Men’s 100m freestyle and 100m breast-stroke
finals.
In the 100m freestyle race, Feigen hit the finishing wall in 49.26 seconds to secure the gold title. Previously, Feigen won two gold medals in the 100m 4x100m freestyle events ar the 2011 Summer Universiade games, in Shenzhen.
In the corresponding race, Norbert Trandafir of Romania picked the silver medal with an impressive time of 49.41 seconds. Meanwhile, Shinri Shioura of Japan captured bronze medal on the podium by submitting a scintillating time of 49.50 seconds.
Nicolas Oliveira of Brazil wound up fourth in a time of 49.60 seconds, while Kenji Kobase of Japan earned fifth position in a time of 49.90 seconds. Russia’s Oleg Tikhobaev was placed sixth in a time of 49.94 seconds, whereas, Robert Savulich of United States
finished seventh in 49.97 seconds. Mindaugas Sadauskas was placed eighth after he touched the finishing wall in a time of 50.14 seconds.
In the Men’s 100m breast-stroke final of the meet, Giedrius Titenis of Lithuania took home the golden crown on the podium by posting a stunning time of 1 minute and 00.39 seconds. Meanwhile, Glenn Snyders of New Zealand snagged silver title in a time of
1 minute and 00.71 seconds. Joao Junior Gomes of Brazil clinched the bronze medal with a sterling time of 1 minute and 00.78 seconds.
Felipe Lima of Brazil wound up fourth in a time of 1 minute and 00.86 seconds, while Ryo Tateishi of Japan was placed fifth in a time of 1 minute and 01.15 seconds. Valerii Dymo of Ukraine finished sixth in a time of 1 minute and 01.33 seconds. Mattia Pesce
of Italy was placed seventh in a time of 1 minute and 01.49 seconds, whereas, Johannes Neumann of Germany earned eighth spot in a time of 1 minute and 01.82 seconds.
