The gangling http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 wicketkeeper batsman and Essex captain, James Foster, on Friday confirmed he will stay with Chelmsford for the next three seasons after signing a three-year deal with the Essex County Cricket Club, hence
ending the chances of him going to the Rose Bowl.
The Hampshire county had earlier this week sought permission from the Essex management to speak to the wicketkeeper batsman in an attempt to sign the Eagles skipper, who was out of contract at Essex at the end of the ongoing
season. The Essex management allowed the Hampshire county to contact the 31-year-old.
The Hawks, reportedly, offered Foster a large increase upon the salary he receives at Essex but the wicketkeeper batsman declined any move away from his life-long county and signed a three-year contract with the Essex
on Friday, August 12.
Foster confirmed that he was approached by the Hampshire county but said that he does not want to leave his home county and vowed to give his everything to the club as player as well as captain.
"When another club expresses an interest in you it is tough not to listen, but ultimately I did not want to leave http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783," said Foster while talking to the media reporters after signing the three-year deal with the Essex. "I
still see playing cricket for Essex as a privilege, and I will continue to give everything to the club as a player and captain."
The Essex coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adrian-Paul-Grayson-c42130, was excited for having signed Foster for another three years. Grayson is looking forward to continuing with the strong working relationship with the wicketkeeper batsman.
