James Graham confident about his side's performance - Rugby League
England's James Graham showed confidence in his side’s strength as they march on to the field taking on the strong Australian side at Wembley on Saturday, November 5. Graham's statements came at a press conference on Sunday, October 30.
England has recently emerged victorious in a match up against Wales, in their inaugural encounter of the National Rugby League (NRL) Gillette Four Nations Series, on Friday, which has amplified their already soaring morale.
While speaking about his side’s commendable performance in Friday’s clash, Graham stated, "I think we did all right. We've definitely got some improvements in us. We made some uncharacteristic errors but I'm sure we'll fix that up in the next two weeks.
Wales definitely turned up ready to play, they weren't messing around. I thought 'Briersy' was outstanding and their forwards certainly ran it tough as well. I think we performed a lot better than last week.”
While acknowledging his side’s strength, which is moving towards further improvement, the player stated that he promised his side will be seen notching up their level of the game.
Sam Tomkins has been lauded for his try-studded performance, scoring four of the total eight tries of his side, in the inaugural game at Warrington on Friday that saw them winning over New Zealand making 26-12 by the end of the clash.
Tomkins’ fitting start for the English side, with a try within the first minute of Friday night’s clash had put them in the lead from the beginning. Meanwhile, Wales had lost possession of the ball along with Jordan James, who was injured during the very
first tackle.
The half-time score were 14-0 and the trend was followed into the second half of the game and the English won the clash after deciphering the opponents’ defence fantastically.
There were a number of fresh recruits on McNamara’s squad whose performances alone proved of their just selection.
