James Harden scores 46 to down Oklahoma City Thunder 122-119: NBA Recap
Houston Rockets said goodbye to a few of their mates in the winter transfer window but did not showed any signs of weakening up as they came back from 14 points down in the fourth quarter to sneak a 122-119 win over the Oklahoma
City Thunder on Wednesday night.
James Harden was on fire tonight, he scored 16 of his career high 46 points in the fourth period to lift Rockets to their first win over his former club this season. Harden went an astonishing 7 of 8 from the three point land.
He was well supported by guard Jeremy Lin who finished off with 29 points to go along with his 8 assists.
Kevin Durant posted a triple double with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. Russell Westbrook added 28 points and 10 assists while Serge Ibaka finished with 16 points and 7 rebounds and 5 blocks for the night.
"It was definitely the weirdest game I've ever played in. It was just tough. It was hard to focus. It was hard to block out four friends leaving. That's a huge win for us, and I thought we really showed something tonight, fighting
through that, staying focused and playing a really good team." Chandler Parsons of Rockets on the win after saying goodbye to team mates before the game.
Thunder were in command of the game for the most part before the Bearded one stole the show down the stretch. Oklahoma City did take some time to get things going early on and it resulted in the Rockets outscoring them 36-29 in
the first period.
Thunder upped their game in the second quarter and started cutting into the deficit. They kept Harden and company at bay and restricted Houston to only 21 points in the period. Harden made a three point play near the end of the
quarter as the Rockets headed into halftime trailing 57-62.
Third period was pretty even with both teams matching each other basket for basket through out the quarter. Play of the game came when Harden nailed a three pointer from half line at the end of the third period.
Houston were down by 14 points early in the fourth period but they came back hard in the game, as Harden and Lin combined for a hard fought deserving win.
