James Hook to decide future
Welsh international James Hook will come to a decision regarding his future after the autumn internationals in November.
The British and Irish Lions international's deal runs out with the Ospreys in May and French club Perpignan are keen to sign the 25-year-old.
The versatile player can play in a number of positions and it is likely that Hook will have no shortage of clubs to sign for.
At the moment the Osprey’s player is concentrating on overcoming a shoulder injury.
"My goal was to get back on the pitch and get fit for the autumn internationals and make a decision after that."
"I was happy to get 20 minutes against the Scarlets and a full game against Toulon so the more I play the match fitness will be up there," added Hook.
Hook has only turned out for the Ospreys twice this season and he decided not to travel to New Zealand for Wales’ summer tour. Instead the centre underwent surgery to deal with the persistent shoulder
injury that he struggled with last season.
The Ospreys lost to Toulon in their opening game of the Heineken Cup and they have yet to play London Irish and Munster in what is an extremely difficult group.
The Ospreys did win the Magners League last year, but they have under-achieved in the Heineken Cup, despite having a team full of rugby internationals.
This may cause Hook to look to Perpignan, who will have a larger budget to spend on players. The Welsh centre would also be given a lucrative contract in comparison to his deal with the Ospreys.
Yet, the player has refused to commit his future and said, "I will probably make a decision [on my future] over the next month or two."
The Ospreys will be disappointed if Hook chooses to walk away from the club, but their poor form in the Heineken Cup indicates that the centre may move on.
