James Hopes confirms he will not leave Delhi Daredevils in midst of Indian Premier League season 4
Australian all-rounder James Hopes, who is playing for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils in the ongoing Indian Premier League season, on Saturday assured that he will not leave the team in the midst of the tournament and would play the complete season.
Hopes’ father has been diagnosed with bowel cancer this week and since then there were doubts surrounding his availability for the Virender Sehwag-led
Delhi side but he made it clear that his father has asked him to stay in the Subcontinent and play the full tournament.
“My Dad has asked me to stay on and play the full IPL and be with my team through and through,” Hopes told the media reporters. “Yes, it is true that he has been diagnosed with it (bowel cancer). But he is in great spirits. My mother
is there with him and my elder brother, John, is also there in Brisbane.”
The 32-year-old Queenslander and a former Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 player was signed by Delhi Daredevils for US$ 350,000 for the 2011 season of the IPL.
Talking about his father’s illness, he said that he came to know about it on Wednesday but his father has strictly asked him to continue with cricket.
Hopes said that after he told his father of his desire to return home, he said, “I will kill you if you come back. I want you to play and do well.”
Hopes added, “I don't know where those reports of the possibility of my going back came from.”
He said that his father has been diagnosed at the right time and he would soon undergo a surgery. He further added that the process is a long one but the things are in control and the doctors are very hopeful about recovery.

5 for 14.
Hopes has not played an international match since October 2010 and reckoned that the IPL is a perfect platform to press his claims for a return to the national side.
