James Kamte competes well for the leading position at Telkom PGA Championship
James Kamte remained bogey-free after the completion of two rounds, at the Telkom PGA Championship, staged by Sunshine Tour in South Africa.
The 29-year-old South African professional golf player delivered his best at the Country Club Johannesburg. His impressive strokes took him to the third-position tie with two others.
He scored a 10-under par and 134 strokes in total and finished two strokes behind the leader Dean Burmester. Two rounds completed and Kamte played a tremendous bogey-free game.
“I’m just trying to avoid bogeys by hitting the ball well. As long as the putts are going in I can make it. I’ve been working on my mindset and staying calm on the course – to just let myself play golf,” Kamte said.
He impressively struck eight birdies in two rounds. His leaderboard position was further paced up by the support of an eagle.
He scored a 67 in both the rounds and competed well for the leading position.
Kamte covered more driving distance, which helped him to save bogeys. He is playing with full commitment and passion. His bogey-free performance in both the rounds is appreciable.
The South African professional is confident for the victory and hoping to be the leader in the upcoming two rounds of the Telkom PGA Championship.
He stated, “I’m hitting the ball well around this course, which I need to keep doing, and so far everything has been good. Last year I was close to losing my card and I had to win, and I went out and I won (BMG Classic)”.
“That was a huge boost for my mind, because I knew that I could step up, and that’s what I’ve started to believe this week,” Kamte added.
Kamte is the winner of 2011 BMG Classic. He scored a 9-under 207 and defeated Dawie Van der Walt in a playoff mode. This was his fourth Sunshine Tour win and fifth professional victory in total.
Now, he is looking forward to scoring and competing well against Dean Burmester and Keith Horne.
He has displayed an amazing performance and it is highly expected that he will be fighting hard in the coming two rounds of Telkom PGA Championship in South Africa.
